Importing

Manual Add Card is fine for a handful of items, but if you're bringing in a whole shoebox, a COMC port, or a vault export, import instead. Imports live on the Intake tab of the Collection surface: open Inventory in the nav, use the scope switcher to select Intake, then open the Import dropdown and pick a source. All three import flows are card-only today.

Old bookmarks still work — /inventory links now redirect into the Collection surface, so nothing you saved breaks.

From CSV

For bulk entry from a spreadsheet. Download the template (a sereal-card-import-template.csv with the full column set — player, year, sport, product, card number, parallel, grading fields, cost, and more), fill it in, and upload it.

Before anything is committed, Sereal previews every row and validates it: it flags a missing player, an unknown sport/box/source, bad numbers, or a graded card missing its grader or grade. Rows that already match something you own are skipped as duplicates (matched on player, year, card number, product, parallel, grader, grade, and cert) and reported back so you know what didn't come in. Fix the flagged rows or import the clean ones.

From COMC

If your cards live on COMC, open your COMC inventory page, copy the text, and paste it in. Sereal parses the COMC line format — year, manufacturer, product, parallel, card number, serial — and pulls out each card. Items are de-duplicated by their COMC item id, so re-pasting the same page won't create copies; already-imported cards are marked as such in the preview.

From PSA Vault

For graded slabs you hold in the PSA Vault. Upload your PSA Vault CSV export and Sereal maps each row to a graded item — cert number, grade, grader, year, set, card number, player, serial, your cost, and PSA's estimate.

A few specifics worth knowing:

• Active rows only. Rows marked Sold in the export are skipped automatically and counted for you.
• Cert-based dedup. Items are matched on cert number, so re-importing won't duplicate slabs you already have.
• Set the sport. PSA exports don't carry sport, so assign it per row — or use Apply sport to all to stamp every importable row at once.
• Acquired date is folded into the item's notes (acquired MM/DD/YYYY), and vaulted items get a VAULT box location.

Because these are already-graded, pre-vetted slabs, PSA Vault imports land straight in your Collection — they skip the intake queue below.

From eBay (purchase sync)

If you buy on eBay, you can pull your won purchases in automatically instead of re-typing them. This one lives on its own surface — eBay Imports in the nav (under Buy), also reachable from Settings → eBay Purchase Import once connected.

Connect your eBay account once (a standard OAuth handshake — your eBay login is sealed server-side and never reaches the browser), then Sync now fetches your recent won purchases into a review queue. A few specifics:

• Auto-classified. Each purchase is tagged likely break, likely single, or unknown from its title, so you can triage by type.
• Duplicate warnings. Before you import, Sereal checks what you already own and flags an exact match (same eBay item) or a likely one (same player/product, price within a dollar, bought within a few days) — with a link to the existing item and an import-anyway escape hatch.
• Import as single or break. Send a purchase to the intake queue as a single, or file it directly as a break (vendor, break type, product, optional spot). Break imports are idempotent, so re-syncing the same purchase won't duplicate it.

The intake queue

CSV and COMC imports don't drop straight into your Collection. They land on the Intake tab — reachable from the Collection scope switcher — your triage surface for owned product you haven't sorted yet. Items arrive unreviewed and are ranked by signal score, so the cards most worth a decision (better comps, star players, key card types) float to the top.

Work the queue by giving each item a disposition — keep, sell raw, grade, lot, or bulk — or skip it. Either way the item is marked reviewed and leaves the queue; a keep disposition moves it into your Collection. Each import is tracked as a batch (source and item count) so you can see where a cohort came from.

Intake is not Scout. Intake triages product you already own; Scout is the acquisition side — what you're trying to buy. Items you buy through Scout go straight to your Collection and never pass through intake. See Scouting & deals.
